What is Silymarin Powder?
Silymarin Powder is a botanical extract concentrated in nature, which is derived just and available in the form of free- flowing powder that is extracted out of the seeds of Silybum marianum (popularly called the Milk Thistle) with a high content. Targeted at industrial and commercial applications, the ingredient finds its application in many liver health supplements, antioxidant complexes, and metabolic support products. The active content, silymarin, is normally standardized to 80% but silybin may be increased to suit formulation requirements. The solvent extraction and purification of the powder, which is done through modern methods, are made under GMP conditions to provide a high level of purity, batch to batch consistency, and, secondly, in view of its adherence to international quality standards, namely: ISO9001, HACCP, KOSHER, etc. It can be incorporated into diverse forms of delivery such as capsules, tablets, granules, and functional blends. It has a stable composition, a good solute, and is well suitable in the manufacturing of OEM/ODM producers, particularly for manufacturers interested in reliable plant-based actives, with valid test methods, including HPLC or UV.

Recommended Dosage
Generally, the target application determines the recommended use of Silymarin Milk Thistle, in a final formulation, based on the standardization grade of the extract. Most of the dietary supplement products that are marketed to enhance liver health and antioxidant status or defense are in the range of 100 mg to 300 mg extract per serving, with a specification of 80% silymarin content. This translates to a realistic dosage of about 80 -240 mg every dose. When used in a multiple ingredient mix or in a functional formulation then the dosage is often varied to achieve synergistic compatibility with other actives and regulatory compliance. In the case of clients, customization of the final dose must be in line with the regional health authority regulations, targeted health claims, and product positioning. We have a technical team that can give formulation suggestions and dosage references to accelerate the development of products of different delivery forms, such as tablets, capsules, and sachets.
